lt250r 85-86 suspension

i was wondering how i could use 16" shocks on my 1986 lt250r? i understand you can buy a top shock mount kit and weld it on. but i was wondering if there were a arms that would allow longer shocks for my 86 lt250r. if not then i was planning on just buying a nice 87 and up frame would this allow me to use 16" shocks if i were to buy extended a arms also? thanks for the help guys
