Use a synthetic oil, unlike conventional oils synthetic oil will have the same consistancy no matter what the temperature is, I had much the same problem with my blaster. Anytime the temp dipped below 30, When I tried to shift into first either the engine would die, or the bike would snap forward. After a short ride it would loosen up, but I didn't want do do any damage.

i think it has gear oil in the trans....it smells like it...could this be the culprit?

this is one of those deal where you need to take an afternoon off & go thru the whole clutch system (from clutch cable to clutch basket). Your clutch fibers look goo as do you pressure plates, however from what ive seen your clutch basket looks badly grooved. Im not saying this is the answer, but when you go thru it look at how each part interacts with eachother. About filling down the ridges in the basket....I would do it just to get the "Peaks" off, I would NOT do it untill its flat. I have had people say not to do this, but I have had more say that I can do this ..... but in moderation. Keep us informed on other specific questions about this clutch problem.

thanx for the reply i checked over everything else and i filed down the basket until it was almost flat ill post some pics later but im gonna put it all back together and im debating on whether i should use atf or 10 w 30 motor oil to run in it ill see wat happens next

i just started to put the pressure plate back on my bike and i noticed there is a washer with needle bearings on 1 side and i forgot which way it is supposed to face it looks like there r grooves where the needle bearings are supposed to ride on the back of the pressure plate but idk can anyone help me out here???as to which way it is supposed to face
