Question New top end is running hot ??? Help

I just rebuilt my 2004 RM 250 with a Wiesco top end kit. Everything went fine but now the bike seems to run a bit warmer. It seems to stay just below the boil over point. I only ride trails so I'm pretty much in first and second gear the majority of the time. However it didn't have this problem before.

Is there any adjustments that need to be made after you rebuild or is it something that will mellow out over time?

Did the head gasket you used for the rebuild have the same size water holes as the old one did? and are they in the same spots? sounds like maybe your coolant is not flowing like it was. Not saying this is your problem 100% but what else did you change that would effect cooling?

feel both of your rad hoses when its hot, make sure they are both the hot, if one is cold that mean coolant isn't flowing all the way through your system

I'm with John on this one about the head gasket.

Yeah gasket seems to be the response I have been getting. I'll have to do the hose temp check. The gaskets are the only thing I have changed that come into contact with the cooling system. IF i was to take it apart and check the gaskets will they be shot and really need to be replaced? I have only put 5 hours max on the bike since the rebuild.
Whats this "drilling relief holes in the piston" stuff I have been hearing about? Is sounds interesting because I'm only riding in hot moist hawaiian jungles at slow speeds. Overheating is comman since I'm polishing rocks and roots all day long. haha. I would be all about anything that cools the bike down.
