Question LT250R with FMF exhaust that leaks

The one flaw that my 91 LT250R has (well, maybe not the only one, but the one I am concerned with fixing for now) is the union between the FMF Fatty pipe and silencer. I bought the quad a few months ago, and it is in like new condition. The only mods to the quad are the exhaust, Boyesen reeds, and Renthal bars. When the exhaust was installed, the joint that connects the pipe to the silencer had no o-ring or something was missing. The previous owner wrapped the joint in what appears to be muffler bandage material. It is not a tight fit and allows exhaust oil to leak making the quad harder to keep clean. I thought about a piece of radiator hose and some hose clamps, but was wondering if there was another product that would work and look better. I checked FMF's website and found nothing in their accessory department. I saw something on e-bay a few weeks ago for the Quadzilla and was wondering if that was the product that I was looking for and whether or not it would work on my 250.

Ya I've seen those on ebay that your referring to. I did the radiator hose and 2 clamp thing. The only difference is I painted mine suzuki blue. Granted it didn't stay nice and blue long but still retains some blue. I'll take a pic of it when I get home and show you. But you can't beat it for under 10$. -Mark

Thanks for the reply, I guess I will use the radiator hose fix until I find something that looks like it should actually be there. I guess heat and melting are not really a problem at that location in the exhaust.

Upload some pics of your quad. I'd love to see it. I'll upload pics of my 91 when I take pics of it when it's not covered with mud.

There are a ton of clamps out there for the banshee. Excuse my ignorance, but would one of them do the job or is it a different size? My one side leaked a little last year but I adjusted the pipes last week and I think I solved the problem.

I can almost always get mine to seal using ultra black very carefully then there is no need for a clamp.
