Broke Down (HELP!!!!)

I tried going riding today.But as soon as i got into the woods my bike started hesitatng and bogging.It was fine when i was riding around the neighborhood... I think i may have an electrtical problem.From what i found my wires for the head light and stuff came in contact with the exhaust and melted.It maybe coincidence and been like that a while but who knows.I took all the wiring out and did away with everything to do with the extra electrical.All i have now is the Magneto,CDI (may be the problem),coil and starter kill.I cant get it to start by kicking it.And i kick the shit outta it.But if i tow it with my buddies quad it will start and idle O.K.But when i hit the gas it bogs and dies in the higher rpm.I took the carbs out and there fine.There only a year old.My compression is 150 to 160...I have spark when i kick it over but it will not start by kick.But it will shoot out a back fire every now and then.I also took the mag cover off and all was well in there also...I though it was jetting at first but my quad croked all of a sudden.This is when i wish i had a (4 poke) electric start!!!!I think im gonna go by a new voltage tester and see what im getting at the coil,mag etc.,etc...Any ideas.... are you sure you didn't take out something important? CHeck and make sur eyou arent shorting an igniton system wire to ground anywhere. if your getting a backfire like that, check and make sure the flywheel key isn't broken

Mine backfired like that from kicking it when the ground wire back by the CDI. There was a crappy connection with the ring terminal crimp on the wire and it slipped out. Using the correct size ring terminal was a cheap and easy fix.

I think flywheel key will fix this problem also. Its a pretty small little piece that makes a huge difference

I went and got a flywheel puller and pulled the magneto and the key was fine.I did notice that i was able to turn the engine over by hand very freely.But it has good compression.I even used another comp gauge to make sure and it also read about mid 150's...I would think i wouldnt be able to turn the engine over by hand>>>Lost>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

If the key is fine and you haven't changed anything on the bike, I would have to guess that it has to do with the wiring somewhere. Testing each component in the wiring system, and also making sure that all connections are in order should fix it

You could just have a very weak spark, did you even check to see if you have spark? My friend's 2000 did that crap last year. It needed a new stator. If you have another banshee handy with the same wiring just test the CDI out by putting them back to back and plugging the working banshee's wiring into your banshee's CDI. If it runs fine than it sure ain't the CDI and you've ruled one thing out.
