I'm sure it can be done, just wondered if anyone on here has done it. I can't see shelling out $22 for a gasket. Yes I'm cheap. lol

I make my own all the time for obscure models but buy them when I can. Theres a pretty big difference between an old Wilkinson Sword with 110lbs stock compression and an LT250R with 185lbs. I also make them for most air-cooled motors since they use the copper gasket anyway. $22 sounds expensive but like Drew says, not as much as a new top end.

22 what the hell I paid 30 for a copper base and head gasket. You need to price around a little.

That's through my Suzuki dealer, I don't know where else to get one other than online. I thought $22 was rediculous too.

If you are pretty handy with a dremel you can buy a 89 cr250 head gasket and modify the stud hole pattern slightly and gain a good amount of compression. It will require some sealant for best reliablity but I have never had a problem with one yet.

| markup is a beeatch. it probably costs SUzuki 2.00 to make the gasket, then they sell it for 22....like 370 said, get ahold of Flattrack. your 22 bucks will go a lot farther.
