86 LT Wiring!!!

Ok im going to replace my stator and coil.Just want to make sure that when i do i wire it up correctly because i had taken my headlight off and left the wiring there and it got melted on my pipe and now i have nothing but a head ache.This is how i am wired up right now.The only thing i will be doing differently is replacing the coil and stator.I have the wiring from the stator as follows.I have the black with white trace grounded to the frame(after looking at the manual i believe everything black with white trace is grounded).The yellow and white taped up because i am not using the light so the voltage regulator is off.The the solid black wire is connected to the coil.Blue stator wire to blue CDI and Black and red stator wire to the black and red CDI.I have the yellow with black from the CDI to my tether kill to ground out the CDI to shut it down.And as for the coil it is bolted to the frame where it belongs ...The plug wire connected to the plug and the solid black from the CDI.As far as i know this is exact.Please let me know before i put in the new electronics!!!

sounds good. after you start it and you smell something burning make sure you shut it off fast!!!

well if you've got it wired to what your wiring diagram says, i would try it. if you don't have the diagram let me know, i'll try to scan it,

As long as the yellow and red from the stator is ok to leave taped off and the black with white trace goes to the frame.Ill be all set.Just wanna be positive because i took the excess lighting wiring off!!!

just don't plug that wire from the stator into anything and tape it off and it will be fine. the yellow and red is only for the lights and if its not pluged in it can't do anything. and ground the black and white.
