Question Vibrating LT500

Was out riding my LT today when all of a sudden it started vibrating. I shut it down and looked it over and everything looked okay so I started it again. You could see it vibrating so the day was over. Wondering if anyone has any idea what happened or what to look for before I tear into it.

Have you checked for loose engine mounts? check those first, but it sounds like you might have a balancer shaft problem...take the stator cover loose and see if you can grab that counterweight and move it in any direction. you might have tossed one of the shaft bearings, or the weight that is removable might have broken the key or something and moved, causing a nasty vibe...

The motor mounts were the first thing I checked and they are fine. I am going to look at the counter balancer tomorrow as I think that is the problem also. Seems like the motor runs fine just has a nasty vibration now.

Yep...never thought of that. You can get one if you buy another junker stock one. BUt if you want billet which with a zilla is the way to go, your looking at mid-may at the earliest. Its the only part I need to finish mine.

Tore the bike down today and found that the key that holds the counter weight shattered. Everything else looks fine so hopefully that is the problem. Thanks for all the help.
