| Never heard that the 250 crank is the same as the 500. I would have to believe the 500 crank would be built stronger but maybe not. I don't think I have an lt250 and 500 crank laying around to check thoug. Not finding 1st is common with my buddies zilla sometimes. Might want to look at a better crank case oil not sure what you have in it know though. Well for bling you really have to just chrome or powdercoat parts to make the zilla bling. You can put a cool head that shines. Nice chrome pipe. There are some people now on ebay that are selling billet parts might check out there. THe bling is a kid thing. Sucks I still haven't grown out of it.

AAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!. Goddamned backplate on the clutch exploded! A couple of the cusion springs were beneath the shiftshaft preventing it from going into 1st. I can't imagine why it didnt make any change in how the engine sounded. Zip, nada, it sounded normal as always. I've never had a backplate fall apart before. Had a few baskets disintegrate, but nothing like this. The rivits are all loose and allows the plate to turn a full 1/4 inch. It wasnt like that when I put it in. Lousy piece of shit! Is Quadboss a good brand? I found a company that has them instock but have never bought this brand. I'm not about to buy a Suzuki brand basket.

just curios where did you hear that a 250 crank would fit into a 500? i own both and seen both cranks and the 500 is like twice the size. tha 250 main bearings aren't even close. only thing that they both use is the wrist pin bearing. i heard before that if you can't shift into first that the fingers on the basket break off and get wedged under the shifter shaft.

Honestly, I can't remember where I heard the cranks were the same, but it's obviously wrong. I looked into myself and they are far different. Well, after calling a bunch of places and finding a bunch of baskets to replace mine......I still had to buy the stocker. None of the aftermarket baskets come with the ring gear attached. That sucks. So, I'll use a stocker for a couple of sets of discs then get a Hinson. As I said, the ring gear spring was stuck to the bottom of the shift pawl preventing the shifter from going down enough to engage first. My basket is in fine condition. As you can see in the pic, the gearplate busted up losing a big piece. Theres also a crack to the left of the seperated piece you can see if you look closely.

For those interested, I got a stock replacement from Midwest Action Cycle (800-343-9065) for $149.50 He also said he had 2 Hinsons in stock. Well, I guess I should be happy I'll be able to ride this weekend.
