Default Anyone Run BR8EG Plugs in Their Zilla?

My B8EGV is damn near fouled with oil, as I suspected the quad is running rich. I have some new BR8EG plugs kicking around in my garage as they are what I run in my CR250. Now the only difference I can see is the BR8EG is a Resistor type plug, same heat range and thread as far as I can tell.

Anyone ever try this?

Hell, went riding on my 89 last year and forgot to put spare plugs in the tool bag. The plug up and quit on me and the only help I could find was an old man down the road. He gave me a Champion lawnmower plug DJ8J. Finished the day with it, and I HATE Champion plugs. I normally use the EGV's but also the EG's and IX's. The resistor is nothing to worry about, it's just an aspect of the plug to reduce interferance in car and house radios.

Thanks, I was just checking because I have a bunch of BR8EG's and BR8EIX plugs that I had bought for my CR250.

ive heard of guys switching old b8es plugs for irridiums on the dyno and gaining up to 2 hp just by switching them ,WATCH*the eix irridiums run a tad hotter and need a size bigger main IMO

Yea, I just switched to the BR8EIX plug and took the zilla for a spin. It was runnin pretty nice. Before my jetting was a tad on the rich side, so it smoothed things over a little. Because the Iridium is a much harder material then the other plugs, I can run a pretty small gap and not worry about wearing down the electrode.

My wifes machine is running a bit rich and fouls the EIX just as fast as the EG's. That's a myth and NGK makes no claims that they foul any less.

From the NGK website.
Iridium is a precious metal that is 6 times harder and 8 times stronger than platinum, it has a 1,200(=F) higher melting point than platinum and conducts electricity better. This makes it possible to create the finest wire center electrode ever. Prior till now, platinum had been favored for long life or performance spark plugs due to its high melting point, also the technology did not exist to machine and bond iridium on a spark plug electrode(at least in a cost effective manner). Iridium industrial spark plugs have been around for years, but still sells for over a hundred dollars per plug. Just now is the technology available to effectively use iridium in a spark plug for automotive applications. The strength, hardness and high melting point of iridium allows NGK to manufacture there iridium ultra-fine wire center electrode to 0.7mm. One of the finest firing points in the industry! (Thus far there has been no problems reported regarding use of iridium plugs with nitrous oxide.)

Well for the Zilla the resitor plug is not needed. My buddy runs B8ES and has really good luch with them. Really never fouls plugs except after hours of riding which is typical of a zilla

As the others have said, the resistor will not effect anything.

In reference to the Champion Power Sport plugs, I actually perfer them over the NGK. They seem to last twice as long and cost about the same as the cheap NGK's. This may be in my head, but I also think it runs better.
