Default Newbie here, got a quick question

Hello everyone, just finished my waterpump kit and that's working great. I have a question about the clutch. It seems that the clutch won't engage. Has anyone had a similar experience. I aligned the rack and pinion for the clutch cover but did notice that the pinion on the clutch was somewhat loose. Thanks in advance.

Jon

sounds like your clutch is weak, some new plates, springs and a hinson basket will do the trick

if it worked fine before you messed with it then the plates and basket are fine just retrace your steps and make sure everything is correct

Simple mistake, didn't align the clutch cable arm far enough on the pinion splines.

Just for general information, a similar thing happened to me after installing a complete new clutch: you have to make sure that the clutch release pinion is turned clockwise all the way to the front of the machine and keep it there when you instal your clutch release arm (otherwise it doesn't fully engage your clutch when you pull the handle).
Glad you got yours fixed!
