| I have a 38mm keihin air stryker carb on my trx250r and that thing rocks. As for the exact jet to use, im not sure you'll have to play with it a little bit.Every setup is different. Jetting a carb is really easy. Take your float bowl cover off(bottom of carb)and you'll see the main in there. Use a screwdriver and itll come right out. The easiest way for me or anyone else to help you with your jetting # would be to find out what jet # is in it now(# will be on the jet) and how your quad is acting as well as what your plug looks like.

| As far as your reeds, I'm going to try out those G3 reeds myself. They seem to be the setup to go with. If you wait another week Ill be able to tell you all about how they are with the trx250R.

| What motomark said was right. Start with the jet you have in your old carb now and go from there. I would also run without the airbox lid for more flow. which will affect the jetting too. As for reeds I really can't help you there because I have boyseen in my lt that I need to change.

| oh yeah i'm not sure what size carb is on your LT now but if the 38 is bigger whicjh i'm guessing it is. the stock air box probably won't work with it. your probably gonna have to get a clamp on k&n for it |

| I have a 38 mm Keihin PJ on my 87 LT250R, it is a great carb, but does not fit well in the reed cage boot, it lacks about 1/4 inch to fit in snuggly. It does fit great in the air box boot though. My local dealership told me to carefully shave a little out of my reed intake boot so the carb would fit better or to clamp it on the very edge of the boot so that it would work. I think that this may be my problem for a question I posed in another thread, need to seal that off very well to prevent it from sucking air! Good luck! |
