Default Question on premix ratio for my Zilla

Hey guys, I bought an 87 quadzilla and had a question on the ratio. I bought it off the original owner and it has been run with a 20:1 ratio as specified in the service manual. I was looking to see what is the optimal ratio you guys are using. I'm thinking 32:1 using Bel-Ray H1R. Your thoughts and suggestions are very welcome. Thanks!

The Zilla manual is really old and that is why it tells you to go with 20:1. Oil back then was not the same quality as today's oil. I would pick your oil and go by what the oil manufacture says. But mix it by the gallon and see how your plug looks. This way if it is not right you can mix up more and drain the other.

I run 50:1 in my banshee and my buddy is running 32:1 in his zilla. Not sure if the 32:1 is the right mix for him since his motor just blew up.

i run my shees on golden spectro 52:1. actually i run everything at that ratio on that oil. usually if youi buy the small bottles of premix you can run that small bottle to 5 gallons of gas. at least thats how it is with spectro, bel ray, and if i remember correctly klotz also.

i've been meaning to try amsoil for quite a while now but the spectro is everywhere. and it's rather inexpensive. how much does a small bottle of amsoil cost??? i can get it right by where we ride i jst have never stopped. also my cousin has a deal on amsoil through his racing. i guess there are some perks to being a good A class 125cc rider

Send the Oilguy an PM he can get you setup to order direct from Amsoil he told me once your setup with an account you get a discount. I think he said a gallon of the dominator turns out to be about $25 something like that. I still need to order mine but I'm not riding for a little bit because I'm building a track in the backyard.

I like my Klotz and 40:1 but I need to try the Amsoil and see how well I like it. As for all the other oils out there maybe they are good but I won't try the stuff.
