Question Wondering

I'm wondering how much more power than stock my machine has and where about it stands againts other machinces....haven't had a chance to ride w/ many people besides a trx250. It's a 89 Lt250R bored .030, FMF pipe and silencer, Boysen Reeds and cage, and has been rebuilt top and bottom end. I was also wondering what difference in the stock reed cage and the boysen cage was? where does the power come from that and why? I'm not sure if the stock Carb is on it or not? Could someone tell me how to tell the difference or what the stock one looks like or is? what would be some benefits for a cool head. Thanks guys..

Also would like to know how to post some pictures

Default Carb

Hello,

I believe that the stock carb for that year should be a 34 mm Mikuni Flat slide choke. http://www.suzukipart.com/ if you look at this site you can see what a stock carb looks like and go from there. If you check out http://sudco.com they tell you how to determine sizes and etc. for all kinds of carbs, it is a great site. Your carb should have a brand name like mikuni or keihin stamped on the side and a series type like pj or pwk for a keihin then check that site out!
Good luck,
Keith

just some good things with a cool head is you can change the domes for different compression, looks better than stock, and is i'm not mistaken they use o-rings instead of gaskets these are just a few, some others can tell you more

my 250 has the same mods as you except I have a ported jug and stock cage w/ boysen pro series reeds(don't know what type of boysens you have). But I race my friends 2003 banshee( stock except reed spacer and boost bottle) and I was able to holeshot him and walk away from him. This was also when I geared the bike down on the rear sprocket. But now I can't keep up since the shee has pipes and and porting. -Mark
