hey my 87 zilla it wont start its gettinggas its got compression its got spark whats wrong

before we can answer your questions we need to know more, what does the plug look like? is it new? how did it run the last time you run it? is your air filter clean? how old is the gas in it? sometimes a plug will be fireing but the spark isn't hot enough to start the quad, once you tell us more we may be able to help.

hey ok the spark plug is brand new i just baught it like yesterday umm the gas in it is fresh i just put it in it and i just baught the oil for the gas the air filter is clean its got a new uni filter the carb was just cleaned out i have no idea why it wont start

did u try pop starting it. also try putting a little gas down the cylinder and then pop start it. if it starts then you are not gettting fuel to the carb. also if it starts by pop starting it, it could also mean low compression. if u have spark, gas, and air, then it should start. tow it behind a car, dump the clutch in second and see what happens. then get back to us.

nope i have pulled it a mile behiond my dads truck and it still wont fire and i think it is getting gas cause you can smell it on th spark plug

What kind of plug are you using and did you take off the metal top to the plug?

im using a b8es and what top are you talking bout its getting fire i mean you can take the plug out ground it on the cylinder and kick it over and its got fire

If you have a new plug, good gas, compression and all that, and it won't start then you probable don't have any down compression, or any compression to suck gas in and create suction. If that is the problem you could have a blown base gasket or a bad crank seal.

ok if it wasnt sucking gas into the cylinder you woldntbe able to smell gas on the spark plug would you you can take the spark plug out after kicking it over and smell gas on it so i think its getting gas into the cylinder
