Hello, I buy the premix 50/50 for my because it is easier and works very well (more expenisve, but less hassle like you said), like JT said about the oil don't buy cheap antifreeze either. I also run a uni on my 87 and it works great! As for ebay you go to the atv parts section in ebay motors and type in either quadracer and just search through the selctions or make it more specifc quadracer kickstarter, etc. you can also search under suzuki 250, this gives more listings, but not all of these are for the quadracer. Why does the kickstarter do that, are the splines slipping on the outside? If not you may want to take your clutch cover off (have a new clutch cover gasket and water pump gasket handy), check your spring and gear teeth inside along with the inner splines (since you don't have a shop manual yet, definitely get one, check out his link for a diagram and part #'s http://216.37.204.206/xtremepowerspo...pe=13&A=2&B=11 ) for excessive wear and any missing teeth. DO NOT remove the spring and inner assembly, unless you plan to remove your clutch basket as it has to be removed in order to get the spring back into it's proper location so that the kickstarter will engage properly. I recently replaced the spring and spring guide in mine along with a complete new clutch (everything else was in great shape), was really hard to start and now it starts on one or two kicks max! If you decide you want more info on this let me know (it is very detailed, I can explain it to you, but if you by a shop manual or clymers---ebay or local dealer for about 30$) they will explain everything to you step by step and are an asset to anyone planning on working on their own machine. Good Luck! |

| The 86 has an oil capacity of about 900cc or almost 2 pts. The 85/86 were equiped with an oil check level, after warming the atv up, there is an oil check level screw below the water pump on the right hand side of the engine, if a little bit of oil seeps out is is good to go, if not you need oil (as with anything don't overfill it). |

| Yes buy the coolant already mixed. Get Spectro or Maxima Koolaid. You can get it from a motorcycle shop. On EBAY type in LT250R and that will give you nothing but quadracer parts and bikes. You really need to look at the kick starter to see if it is slipping on the splines or what before you go buying parts. No need in buying parts that you don't need. You can buy the filter cleaner solution at a motorcycle shop or you can get some kerosene to clean it. Clean it thoughlry not just the outside of it either. Squeeze the excess out don't wring it out or you could rip it. Let it air dry. Get a good quality air filter oil and oil it down. Let it hang overnite to let the excess come out if you use the oil and not the spray. Oh yeah, DO NOT, i repeat DO NOTclean your air filter in gasoline. It will dissolve the glues in your airfilter makeing it useless. |

You can buy coolant that is premixed at auto parts stores (I think prestone makes one), but like JT said the higher quality ATV specific coolant can definitely be bought at your local dealership. Taking the clutch cover off to get to the kickstarter is not hard, it is just very detailed and requires draining and then bleeding the radiator system when you put it back together and draining the oil out of the crankcase (a good idea anyways if you just purcahsed the quad) that is why I recommend a shop manual or clymer. To check just the splines on the outside all you have to do is remove the bolt that holds the kickstarter itself on the splines see if there are any missing or well worn splines on the inside of the kickstarter where it slides on and then look at the splines on the shaft for any wear or missing splines/teeth. If either of this are in poor shape they will need to be replaced, if not let me know and I can explain the other procedure to you; but like I said it would be easier for you if you get the manual so you have the pictures, diagrams, etc. because it is a detailed procedure! |

| Here are a few other things that you will want to think about doing since you just got this machine: Change all the fluids Clean the carburetor Drain the fuel tank and clean it out, replace with new mixed fuel (32:1) Clean your air filter (I see you are already doing this) Since it is leaking coolant, I would check from where: Radiator itself, one of the hoses, around a clamp, water pump, fill neck, etc? When/if you flush the system I would add some bars leak prevention about 1/2 an ounce. You may also want to consider doing a radiator pressure test if the leak is from the radiator to make sure it is functioning proplerly. I would also perform a compression test, your local dealer can do this for you if you don not have one (they can be expensive, or if you know a mechanic maybe they will do it for you)---if your piston is seized that could be your kickstarter problem Have you had the machine running? Just trying to get a better feel for what is going on with your machine, 400$ is a hell of a deal! Did the individual say if anything he/she knew something was wrong with it? Sorry to throw all this info at you, just wanted to give you some other starting points before taking anything apart :p |

| he said the quad ran fine..he didnt tell me any of this stuff...but for 400 dollaz i could care less lol...ima check where its leaking from so im positive... im gonna take the clutch over off to see if i see any wear to my splines..hopefully this isnt to hard.... well ill get back to you guys when i find out sum more info im gonna take a good look at my quad today.. thanks
