 Air Box Eliminator Problems!!!! I have been having problems with my new set up...I did away with the stock air box and now my quad keeps dying on me when i go thru puddles...Its sucking up water thru the filter......Can this kill my engine..It stalls and i put a new plug in it and it starts and cleans out...I made a plastic flap to try to prevent this from happening but i may need to go back to the stock box!!!      |

| I have the k&n filter sock but it dont help for water...I built a plastic shield hopefully that works or back to the stock box...I am kicking myself in the ass because it had a brand new k&n in the stock box and i fired it all up taking out the airbox.....BWAH HA HA!!!LOL

| My 86 came without an airbox. I went the same route as you (K&N and sock). And incountered the same Problem as you (and a hard starting thing). Just got done getting an airbox off of ebay. Wow my starting and stalling problems vanished. So if any one is interested I have a like new k&n and sock. |

| hey maby you could just put your air box on and cut out a peice so your new set up will fit in there and be some what protected??? scott

| LOL, you gotta be kiddin me thinkin that water wouldn't stall the quad. Your qaud would run better with a UNI filter on it, but no you can't take it through water, because try to ignite a watery gas mix, it doesn't work all that well. Either stay outa the water like I do, or put your airbox back on, but all jokin aside, a UNI will outperform the K&N.

| I have a uni airfilter and i was wondering how i go about cleaning it? I should just use water right? and do i need to oil it or somethin after?

| just go to your dealer and buy the cleaner and the filter oil. That will work the best and you always have to oil after you clean. The oil is what helps catch the dirt.
