Default lt500 cooling

I just recently purchased a 87 LT500 from a friend that was moving and couldnt take it with him. Normally I tend to stay in the water (Jet Skis). I am just curious about colling this as im not very familiar with this type of 2-stroke. I checked the resevoir and its dry. Whats the right mixture on these machines? Is normal antifreeze ok or is there something specific to these mahines as far as cooling? It gets a little worm here in the desert and i dont want to blow it as I had already spent the money to get this shipped from the east coast. It runs great BUT i just need some help as for as the cooling. I cant find anything anywhere on this. Any help would be appreciated.

Congrats on the purchase. I used to use regular antifreeze with 2 cups of distilled water but I now switch to Engine Ice. It makes it run cooler than antifreeze. You can pick it up an any motorcycle shop. Normal mixture is 32:1 and use 93 octane. If you want to speed alittle extra pick up a cool head, that will also make it run cooler. Have fun with that beast.

maxima KOOLAID is just as good as engine ice and it's cheaper. oh yeah and it's purple too. ha ha. don;t mix that thing 32:1 you'll be changing plugs daily. the newer oils are made to run leaner. buy quality premix and you can use less of it and it will work better. try some AMSOIL dominator it's a 50:1 premix and the best on teh market. if you need some click in the primesynthetics banner or PM pete or myself and one of us will hook you up.

Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it. I've been running it at 40:1 which it seems to take just fine. I was tol 32:1 when i got it but it looked like it was putting out a smoke screen when i ran it, it seems to be fine now. After further investigation and asking the person i got it from, i guess it was bored out to an 80 over and he said it already has a cool head on it. From what he is saying, its far from stock, I guess ill have to do a closer analysis of this thing.
