i'll run the covers if i send them out for some work, i'm really not comfortable with myself doing seals and stuff like that, i'v watched a couple tutorials, i'm just not 100% shure on it...... but yeah, we may run it a lil without them for now, it looks to me as if the seals are okay, one of them has a tad bit of oil around it, but thats it......but in the future i plan to send the forks and maybe the rear shock out..

Looks good. Only thing I hate to tell you is the paint on the tank is going to bubble
Let me dig around the garage, I think I might have a number plate for it and who knows what else.

Tank restoration is a lot of work but is better when you sand them. The paint will bubble from oil embedded on the surface of the tank.

The best way to restore the plastic is here:

    http://www.4strokes.com/tech/plastic_restore/

Forget that it's a four stroke site, but the author knows his stuff when it comes to restoring the plastic tank if you are wanting to paint the tank. The key to this is using the right cleaner and sealer on the inside of the tank.
If it ain't broken yet, you ain't tryin' hard 'nuff.

i agree but i think he needs another inch or so of foam to cover the rest of that seat pan.

i think its suppose to look like that (chopped off) it is a '79. maybe missing a tool pouch, not sure if the yz models had them but, i know the IT models did.

the 79 yz has almost the same seat as my 80 IT and they have no extra frame loop at the back behind the seat to hold the tool pouch he is missing a bit of seat foam at the back there.
