head gasket?

when i put a new head gasket in, does it go in dry or is there some sort of sealer that i need to put on it? my quadracer is slightly bored over at .010 but no one makes a head gaskets for bored over quadracers that i can find, will a standard size gasket work since my quad is only bored over a little bit?

the standard size gasket should be fine. I put them on dry, ive never heard of anyone putting grease on them

light greasing helps make a good seal..cheaper than gasket sealer but does the same purpose

I never put sealant on head gaskets and have never had own leak or blow out. Standard size will work fine.

Why not use Permatex Copper spray gasket?

some engines need a gasket that raises the head a certain higth

And a 10 thou overbore wouldn't need a bored gasket.

the head gaskets are made to stick or melt to the head and cylinder when the engine gets up to operating temp. after the temp has been up to operating temp the head gasket will attach melt to each surface, that way it seal better.
