paddles on the road is a horrible idea! dont do it! iv owned both, and riden both on the road. the sand stars hold up way better. the skat track haulers cracked and split the first ride. the paddles on the sand stars slightly wore donw after awhile, but never cracked or anything. the trade off is the sand stars are heavier...

ok.... ijust read it all the way through. lol... your fine if your just crossing the road. id push it, with haulers on,. thats just me though. the sand star rims are great! iv got a few pairs. i like them. they are tuff, and pretty. the sand star paddles are alot more rugged. they would do fine on raod crossings, you wouldnt even have to get off.

there is pavement to cross at silver lake and i cross it all the time with haulers with no problem... but haulers are A SAND TIRE.. not a dirt tire... so anything othe than sand is gna wear em down... you might wana look into a set of skat trak desert storms or terian traks

heres a pic of what i'm talking about... i have a set but i didn;t get a chance to try the in silver lake... they do work great in the dirt though... i have a 10pdl set and they HOOK awesome back in my pasture. probably won't hook as good as a paddle in the really SOFT sand... but sand pit sand and things like that they would be awesome..

they offer tire/wheel kits... but for some reason it doesn't match skat traks with wheels on the site.... if you call them they should be able to set you up with a tire/wheel kit...

they are a thin carcas like a reg skat trak tire.. so i'm not sure on the puncture resistance... but as long as it's le ea gravely then it jould be good... i'm thinking jagged rocks would shred em
