| If you get a stabilizer you will not have remote amperage control, that is the only down fall. You can still tig weld with it, it will just be scratch start and DC only. You will need constant high frequency to weld on ac efficiently. But for 200 bucks it was a decent buy. |

| ya thats what i figured, what is the difference between scratch start TIG? and other types? do you have to establish an arc like stick welding in the same way? take those pictures, theres nothin like a good welder

| you can tig weld without the stabilizer. Just will be scratch start. Just scratch it like stick and you are up tig welding. Steel and stainless only. I will post a link to ebay itemm that you can use to get you tig welding for under 80.00 |

| wow thats cheap, ya i was questioning whether i needed a stabalizer or not, so i know there is broader range of metals you can dc stick weld with, dc stick welding is easier than ac no?
