They are very good. I have a set that I use when I am playing. They are a little bulky for just trail riding but good if you are trying jumps or doing tricks.

Its like protective gear its ok i prefer to wear a kidney belt and a sixsixone chest protecter i cant stand those undershirt things they wont be as effective as one of those if your riding a dirtbike definetly get a full plastic chest protecter its alot safer because theres twice as many things that can go wrong on a bike that will dump you over as on a quad.

Is it a good investment to wear under the chest protector?

Not really i would just go with a chest protecter. If you have alot of money its not gonna do much to buy one but pad the falls a little more plus youll be sweatin ur balls off if you wear that under a jersey and a chest protecter on top. Theres a company that makes like a full body suit which is insane it puts plastic guards all over your body but its about 400$ and you look like a gladiator when u wear it and you sweat your ass off in that too.
