Silver Lake In October

ok the dates for the trip to silver lake in october are 22-24 thats a friday saturday sunday. anyway if your from MI, IN, IL i hope you can make it. a couple guys are comming from iowa so it's gonna be a blast. not sure on where we are stay just yet but it's either gonna be the state park (thats where i always stay) or Val Du Lakes (they have a new bar called TINI BIKINI)

Lets say a Canadian like me wanted to trek over the border to the dunes, how would I get there? Is there any permits or anything I have to have?
Is there a cost to ride?

BansheeBite like you I'm also Canadian. Anyway i think but on the weekend you have to get parking vouchers if its real busy. Also you have to pay for DNR and ORv stickers. Dont know the price. And also you got to pay for parking. I think thats all. But i dont know

ok heres the skinny on the dunes. since it'll be in october there are no vouchers. you have to buy a ORV sticker for $16.25 and then it's $8 a day (it used to be $4 a day damn damn) thats all then just your camping. oh yeah you have to pay $8 a day for the truck if it's in the lot i think. but if you stay a the state park to camp then your parking at the dunes is free. i'm guessing that i willbe staying at the state park but i'm kinda thinking maybe about staying at Val Du lakes becasuet ehy have a new ba over there. but i guess i culd always drive over the too. anyway about the knowing each other thing we can figure soemthing out. i'm going to candy stripe my flag i think so duct tape will f*ck it all up. hmmmm well i'll have and e2s shirt on!!!! are you canadians comming for sure??? i'm not sure where you can cross on teh west side of MI. the only place i've ever crossed in MI was windsor but that about 3 hours away from teh dunes by detriot. i can check the atlas if you'd like. or try going to mapquest!

Not sure if I'm going. But i only live an hour away from detroit. So i cross there. But if im going i will put a peice of duct tape around my pole.

Is silver lake the actual name of the city?, I need more info befor I can decide if I'm gonna go, I'd love to go but I got to work out my holidays.

Oh ya, how do I get this ORV sticker is that something I get when I get down there?, and are whips manditory? cuse I don't have one.

ok the ORV sticker you can buy at the gate and the whips are very very mandatory they cost about $18-$20 and you can snag one at DAR it's a proshop/parts store right outside the gate. oh yeah the actual town is called mears, MI where are you located Bbite
