Default black mountain ohv trail ride (pics and vids)

well we all made it down to ride on the 16th and 17th to ride at the Black mountain ohv trail system in Evarts, KY. we had a blast and have alot of good stories to tell. had our fair share of mechanical problems and break downs, as well as plenty of haulin' WFO though the muddy rocky trails. we tried the "widow maker" trail number 21, but I think we only made it about a quarter of the way. our sport quads aint no rock crawlers, especially a banshee with 18inch rear motocross tires. we fought, pushed, pulled each other up through the rocks and ruts untill we couldnt take it no more and turned back down. we went up to the bald knob place on top the mountain. the view was unbelievable . we took a 360* view/ride around video of it and lots of pics. plan on getting all that on here soon for everybody to see.

we found some really nice hill climbs that were freakin awesome. got some good video footage of em all. we finally found the stadium and it was really awesome. hitting those jumps on the hills was really fun. and on the way back from the stadium my brother on his banshee lost his rear left wheel, the axle nut came off and eventually the wheel hub slid off the axle and passed him going down the trail on one of the mountain tops . we had to help him limp back 10 miles to the truck and stop and slid the wheel back on tighter on the axle every so often. and on trail number 12 at one point where it makes a switch back, he was goin along in front and the wheel came off the axle and started rolling down the trail in front of us. so 2 of us, me on the 250r and wesley, another boy riding with us on a ds650, took off after it (it was rolling pretty fast). it got down to where the trail makes a sharp right turn down the hill but at the curve theres a big burm and a overlook and just a straight down bluff............the tire's rolling on at about 20 or 30 miles an hour and it hits the berm and bounces way up and over the side of the bluff !!! we died laughing as we watched it flying down through the woods untill we couldnt see it. 2 of us walked down the almost straight up and down hillside and found the tire up side a downed tree in a creek bed. it probably went way over 1000 feet down the hill. man talk about a climb back up it. i'd say if it happened to anyone else they'd left it down there........it was the steepest hill i'd ever climbed.

but all in all it was probably the best place we been to so far. we deffinatly plan on coming back next year to ride more trails that we didnt get to this time, cause theres a whole lot left thats even better.

heres just a few pics for now, but we got lots more.

if you want to find out more, check it out here:

www.harlancountytrails.com

its in the far south-eastern part of kentucky. look up the town of evarts on google earth if you want to get a idea of what the terrain looks like. in the town of evarts it is legal to ride your bike/quad on the streets to get fuel or go eat or whatever, aslong as you obey the laws and wear a helmet. the town is pretty much in a hole surrounded by towering mountains and hills, and more trails then you could ride on in 3 or 4 days. and its free to ride here, you dont pay anything at all. and there are lots and lots of rental houses and cabins if you want to spend the night or something, or you can just camp out somewhere.

I think we were the only hardcore 2 strokers there those 2 days. I think there was another group on some 2 stroke dirtbikes. but it was funny when we found those hillclimbs and spent some time climbing em. and you can see on one of the vids theres a bunch of utilities at the bottom watching us climb the hills like nothin, thinkin we was crazy lol.
