Scams?

The first one is a definite scam, I have to agree with everyone else, you cash that money order/check or whatever and you sned him the 3000 then your bank comes back on you because it was a fake and you are out your quad, the 2000, and then you owe the bank a grand total of 5000 since you took responsibility for the check. People try that BS on ebay as well, beware!!!!!
Never accept a check or whatever if they want you to send a chunk of money back to them, you will get burned!!
As for your second buyer, you will have to wait and see what he/she says as the deal progresses. If it sounds odd or too good to be true, well it usually is If you are unsure do what you said you were going to do last time and speak with your Dad or someone who you know will give you an honest answer!

Ok, well thanks guys, lots of input here. Today I got an email back from him this morning this is what it read after i replied the following:

The only way im going to accept a cashiers check is if you wait for it to be verified. Thanks.

Okay that is not promble and i will like you give mer the last offer and present condition of the bike also forward the full name and the full mailling address to received the check payment for the bike....Looking forward to read from you soonest!!!

If hes willing to send the check and wait till its verified then I would go for it....Jst have the bank get the verification first it may take a couple day....It's all about CYA(cover your ass)

ok here is a true story a guy i know had his four wheeler on ebay the guy email him with the same line......so he gets the check for 10 grand go to the largest bank in the city they cash it....he then goes to the western union sends three grand back to the "shipping agent" then is emailed and said he is going to pick up the ranger next week so he buys a 1987 clean 4x4 chevy truck ....... 6 days later the bank calls the are sueing him for 10 grand and he is respomsible not the bank him the ranger still sits for sale and some f#$#$ is three grand richer........ cash baby green.......thats what i call safe .......anything else you never know..............just my 2 cents

I just wouldnt sell something of good value like a quad or something to anyone out of this country except canada. Basically theres a 50/50 chance of it being a scam if the buyer wants the deal set up like these 2. There are millions of different variations of scams out there... I.E. this is one I got a few weeks ago something like this.

Hi my name is mary and im in a refugee camp in south america. I have with me in suitcases a family fortune but i need to deposit it somewhere safe. Please Please Please help me and my young daughter by providing me with your account information so i can deposit the money into it and when i return to the united states I will give you 10% for holding it. THIS IS NOT A SCAM PLEASE HELP US WITH YOUR REPLY!!

That is an intersting one, someone in a refugee camp with your e-mail address and a family fortune, why the f**k don't they get on a plane and fly their sorry a**es here then?

I have a request for this item and I need you to understand and accept certain things before we proceed. Since I am buying the item for my client, I am entitled to a commission which would be paid up from what the client pays. I have arranged with the shipping company that would pick"

If that is the exact e-mail the potential buyer sent you, I would be wondering what the hell they are talking about. He/she mentions that there are things you muct understand...but then doesn't say what, what do you care who he is buying it for, it would seem that they would want to know details, pics, negotiate a price??
I would have to say wait and see what future e-mails say from them, but don't count on them being a guaranteed or authentic buyer without more info as it sounds kind of 'fishy'.

yeah thats exactly what i was thinking, they seemed too, BUY IT NOW NOW NOW NOW, i mean its a 300ex, not exactly hard to come by if your buying it for a customer...thats why i hate selling things online, i'll post the next e-mail if/when it comes.
