Default Bad experience with Moto-Carrera

I just had a horrible experience with them. I ordered a set of carbs from them a few weeks ago. They've had my money for over two weeks and no carbs yet. Last week Tuesday they said over the phone that they only had 2 at the time and they would ship them tomorrow(Wed. March 9th). After not receiving them today another phone call was made and more excuses why they haven't been shipped yet. Once again he (doug) said they will be shipped(today). My soon to be wife called because she's more irritated than I am and when he said they will be shipped today she said "that's bull sh#t" and doug hung up on her. She imediately called back to get a refund and was told by doug that he would call back to discuss the refund arrangements. Why can't he just use paypal the way I paid him? No call yet and it's 2 hours later. As far as I'm concerned, doug johnson at Moto-Carrera stole $372.00 from me and will not be getting any business from me in the future. I'm going to order them from Maddog as soon as I get my refund from doug. I tried to save just under $40 by using moto-carrera instead of Maddog and learned my lesson.
I will be posting similar messages on all of the RD and two stroke boards that I visit. I am a very easy going customer and develop loyalty in return for good service. I deal with many people who are into motorcycles and many come to me with questions, problems, looking for parts resources, and a lot of help. I would never treat a customer in the manner in which moto-carrera treated me. By treating me this way, they lost a lot of business; my own, referals, and and by my letting the public know how they operate. I would rather not have had to make a post like this, but I believe that it is justified and without malice.

Exclamation Similar Experience with Moto Carerra

I also have had a bad experience with Moto Carerra. I had been told they were good to order from by one chap up here who races TZ's and has had a few RD's. I ordered Boyesen Reeds and a carb tune-up manual in April and my credit card was charged. My inquiries during the next couple of months were met with excuses of the 'boss was sick' and an
'employee lost the order and it will go out immediately.' Needless to say nothing ever arrived. My later e-mails following-up on this have not been answered, and I don't seem to be able to call the store when it is actually open, or something -- they certainly are not returning voice-messages either. I guess my money is gone for sure.

JUST A WARNING FOR ANYONE THINKING OF PURCHASING FROM MOTO CARERRA!!!

His Shop's Quality Of Work Is So Bad, It Often Appears To Be Intentional. Moto Carerra Will Not Perform What You Ask Them To Do. Moto Carerra Will Not Perform Services They State They Will Do. Moto Carerra Will Charge You For Services They Never Actually Do. Moto Carerra Can Destroy Your Engine And Ruin Your Bike As They Have Mine. Moto Carerra Will Charge You For Parts You Do Not Need. Moto Carerra Will Use Parts That Have Failed And Do Not Work. Moto Carerra Will Lie To You About What Work Has Been Performed. The Fools At Motor Carerra Will Ship You Back Your Engine And Not Use Any Packing Material To Protect Engine Cases, Cooling Fins, Etc.. They Just Threw My Engine Into My Shipping Container Without Any Packing At All Causing The Bottom Case (next To Drain Plug) To Be Cracked And Destroyed My Rd350 Motor. In Some Societies Doug Johnson And His Flunkies Would Have Been Lynched By Now.

Please What Ever You Do - Never Trust Motor Carerra Or You Will Regret It. Motor Carerra Has Robbed Me, Lied To Me, Refused To Provide Invoices Or A Receipt, And Destroyed My Pristine 1973 Rd350.

These Creeps Would Screw Up A Wet Dream.

WOW, this answers my questions then. I have wanted to build a Champion replica RD powered flattracker for years. Well i decided to push ahead this year when Moto carrera had a brand new set of bodywork advertised on ebay for $350.The deal was done and now 2 months later, they wont answer my calls or emails.
They made an excuse when i did get them after a month about the owner being ill, and they would ship them ASAP.Which they did not do. So having read this thread i guess the word screwed comes to mind, as its a long trip from the UK to they place of business to implement the "small claims" proceedour.
These guys are real assholes, i'm gutted.
