Default Small Problem = Big Problem

i just bought a 1980 kx80, great condition, wheels, suspension, just a nice bike, only one small problem the top end is worn badly, so i thought hey no problem just bore it out and pop in a sleeve. no biggy, i brought the bike home, had a friend help carry it up the stairs into my room where i can tear it apart... i tore it apart only to find out that my bearings are going out in my bottom end so now i have to rebuild that...im thinking of just sending it into a shop

its a 1980... i hope you didnt pay more than 500 for it. cuz this fix is gonna cost you about another 500. save as much money as you can by tearing it down to just a case and give it to the shop and buy a new cylinder or sleeve it, whichever is cheaper. that will be a sick ride tho when its complete. i wish i had a wicked old beater like that. congrats on that buy. i think a vintage bike like that is worth the money. fuckers 26 years old. thats sweet
