Default Pwc???

So I'm throwing around the idea of trading the R for a smoker PWC. There are alot of them for sale cheap and can probably get the deal done. But I'm wondering what it cost's to put the thing in any lake, what is the cost of tags, and are they reliable or will I be blowing the thing up every time I ride it? I've never ridden one and looking for something different to do in the summer heat beside sitting at home by the pool.

If you have one do you like it? Which is better the smoker or poker PWC?

well things might be diff in cali but the title change & the registration was i say like $50 & some lakes you have to pay to go to but i just went to stampede over in cali & it was free. i had the stand up jet skis & there a blast to ride but it takes a while if its your 1st time. it shouldnt blow up every time lol but always have a fire extinguisher on your ski (i found out the hard way)

are you looking for a stand up or sitdown? new or older?

Older one as there are alot of them on craigslist and probably a stand up or a sit down so the family can ride it or both?

I had a '97 seadoo, 700cc 2 stroke twin. Things are a blast to ride. I also rode a friends 1100 4 stroke. Both are nice 2 vs 4 but if I had to choose, I'd take a 4 stroke over the 2 stroke. 4 strokes are quieter and there alot easier on fuel too.

i like the 2strokes better....go figure lol....i think they sound pretty sick when you have an exhaust & what not. the only thing i dont really like is that i had a shit ton of money in my ski ('84 js550) & it would only do about 50mph & my unlces ski is like a '04 3 seater & it dose 60mph stock..

Yeah, I was looking at the websites for the local small lakes to see if smokers are allowed and they are still on some lakes. I might just end up getting a 4 stroke but who knows until I make my mind up.

I have 2. A 94 VXR Pro 701x and a 2001 XLT1200. We have a blast on them. 20 bucks a year here in AZ each to register. It runs about 300.00 for insurance on both for a year ( Get insurance if you get a ski ).

Some towns require you to have a town permit on your jet ski but other than that there shouldn't be too many places that charge you to use their lake. 2 strokes over 1100 cc are gas guzlers.

My 1200 isn't really that bad on fuel. 7.4 gallon fuel tank and oil tank holds just over a gallon. That'll last us 3 days of good riding. My 701X is a different story. It's been built and sucks the fuel.
