How do you get into the chat room

I get to the screen and enter my nickname and click enter and it does nothing

you have to click on the enter button, then wait a few seconds a warning thing may come up click yes, does you computer support java?

I can't connect either. It lets me into the room, and then says "connecting" forever, and then "unable to connect" and something about java??????
