Default Head gasket Install

I was looking over the service manual and I am in need of clarity.
I purcahsed a head gasket for my banshee from the yamaha dealer.
After I clean the surfaces do i need to put any gasket adhesive on or do i put the gasket on dry. I have the specs for torque and all parts are stock.

i installed mine dry quite some time ago and havent had any problems, if your services arent great i would use some copper head gasket spray.

Dry should be fine......torque your head in stages (5,10,15,20) and in the correct sequence......

be sure theres no burrs and deck surface is clean and free of old gasket material or crud ,raised surface up and a light coat of 2 stroke premix oil to keep it in place then lower head onto it and gradually chronilogically torque down to 25 psi by numbers that are stamped on the head.

Thanks for the info. Would it be ok to put loc-tite on the head nuts for added security or is this not necessary?
Working on this motor is a little different that my pro street mustang. I appreciate the input

The stud should have plenty of stretch to stay tight... I would re-check them after a complete heat cycle and then forget about them... Loc-tite isnt needed...
