shorty FMF powercore silencers

got tired of the stupid ugly looking 2 foot long fmf powercore silencers and decided id cut a good 4" off the length and repack/tighten . i like the idea of more midrange and lowend snap for my trail bike and they only offer this shorty style for supercross dirtbike riders ,its simple to do and adds a nice raspy growl to the fattys.response seems to improve ,as well looks a ton better and no more hitting those silencer caps on straight up wheelys either .next mod is raptor700 fottpegs or maybe moding yfz450 ones ,lower and wider so i dont feel like im fucking the gas tank when i ride

which end did you cut? cause that looks just like factory on the cap end. nice work.i guess you would have to cut that end for your silencer to still mount correctly. did i just answer my own question?

yeah at the end with caps you simply remove them and cut 4" off the sleeve portion by using a tape evenly wrapped so to make a clean flush cut ,i used a hacksaw and some wd40 ,went through it like butter ,cut it so its even then file it smooth cut 4'off the inner screen tube ,then slide the caps back in the aluminum sleeve line them up and mark new 1/8"holes to drill ,clean and deburr everything good after that and put new packing in it ,slide it all back together and bolt it tight with new self tapping screws or 1'8' rivetw .fmf charges a ton of money for the silencers they have and this is the version they should have made ,looks way better and the sound is stoutand mean like theres some power under the hood
