Default no smoke from the banshee

just rebuilt my banshee runs great bu tim missing something . the puff of smoke out the tail pipe . ive tried adjusting the carbs and it dont seem to get any better . and one more thing how do you sync the carbs any help will do before i bake the motor again

more info would help us all out like what pipe main jet pilet jet open airbox or clamp ons stuff like that and also what oil to gas mix your running

well im running dmc alien pipes , .80 over with wiseco prolites , fuel mixture using mc-1 mixing at 32 to 1 dont know the jetting never had them apart since ive owned the yamaha . head was shaved .30 jug was ported carbs i would say are the stock ones msd stator but stock coil . i let a friend use it he brought it back with a hole in the piston and i had to pay for all the rebuild nice friend huh . but everything was fine befreo it went . now very little to no smoke what do i need to listen for or do when syncing the carbs thanks

have you made mods w/out jetting if so thats bad first need to find if lean or rich as for carbs all ajustments should be the same (idle and air fuel) set same turns out you would no if thay were off.....do a plug ck asap

make sure your friend did not put straight gas in it, if u dont know, drain it and mix some

yes put the right fuel mixture in and do a plug check, that will tell pretty much tell ueverything u need to no, maybe even post a pic of the plugs or whatever and everyone can help further,

The easiest way to sync the carbs is to pull the filters and just look at the slides as you push the throttle. They should raise at the same time, and to get real close just feel both sides with your finger when the slides are flush with the top of the carb.

adjust the throttle cable on the top of the cap so they are both sliding up and down evenly

you could do it the cowboy way or use a uni-sync its a tool that measures air flow cheap and easy just chuk it over the carb mouth and make sure the ball lines up the same on both carbs and you have perfectly synced carbs.

have a crack at pulling apart ya carbs as well there pretty simple just bust out the owners manual. and check ya choke tube is instaled that can cause lean conditions. (no smoke)
