Default please read, its about a shee!

yeah so tomorrow im supposed to drive an hour away to check out this shee, its a 2002 dmc exhaust, hole shot tires all around, new brakes and new top end he wanted 3000, i talked him down to 2500, he said owner b4 him didnt take very good care of it but he did and it runs fine, starts first try n shit, is this a bad price? and what should i be looking at when i go see it. cause im only driving there once so its either i buy it or i dont on the spot, try to help haha i dont have a pic sorry

i would ck it good! 2500 a good deal and any mods are a + ride it for a good ck go true all the gears a few times if all seem good then make the deal but last thing befor hannding over cash take a oil pan and drop the tran flued ck for any gear and metle flake (ck fram for bent u shoud feel a bent fram when ridding it)

go over the frame with a fine toothed comb. shut off the fuel,put the bike in gear and stand it on the grab bar and look everything over very closely. when i bought my shee it was a hella deal but i didnt notice there were hairline cracks on the bottom of the head tube for the swingarm. had i stood the bike up i would have noticed them. look at the engine case realy good to make sure it hasnt been broken and welded up. stand back and look at the front tires to make sure they stand up straight, you could have a bent arm that makes the tires lean. turn the handlebars back and forth and observe how the stearing stem acts incase it's been bent. hold up the back and spin the axle to make sure it has no bend to it. look over all the nuts and bolts /hubs and crab to make sure nothing has been welded up to take care of a problem that your going to end up solving after you get the bike home and notice it. check the oil to make sure it looks like oil and not milky indicating bad seals on the water pump. shake the front wheels/ rear axle to make sure there isnt excess play in the bearings or ball joints. theres a ton of crap you can do but usualy if the frame hasnt been cracked and everything seems straight and the bike fires up pretty easy and seems to run good and all the gears work everything else is an easy fix. most people wont let you strip there bike down to do a leak down test/compression test, rip off the plastics to look at the frame closely to make sure it isnt tweaked and all the things you end up doing once you get it home so it's good to be picky since you cant do all these things...and if they guy gets pissed because your being so picky then he must have something wrong with the bike he doesnt want you to find. i payed $4500 for my bike and the swingarm was cracked. i payed $2700 for my fiances bike and the frame was broke to hell and repaired very badly plus the engine needed a new port job and all the seals were bad so i'd say for $2500 if it runs you not doing to bad...

one thing thats a real c@nt when ya buy ya shee is finding out the swing arm bearings have cracked and ya need to buy a new swing arm. so hold the grab bar and shake it side to side. there should be no play. if there is stay away swing arms are expensive. check the condition of the sprockets and that the chains in good nick. there heaps to replace as well.

all these things will give you an insite as to how well the bloke has looked after it. so check for exccess play in all of the moving parts like a arms and swing arm. make sure the booties on the a arms are all in good nick. and any thing else you can think of. i made a list of stuff to look for

u look like a tool but it does reall help you remember.
