Default one cylinder not firing correctly...please help

OK....i bought this banshee about 2 months ago, and it needed a rebuild bigtime...i tore it apart, re-ringed it, cleaned everything, put new boyesen power reeds in, and now the right cylinder does not want to fire. i eliminated electrical being the cause, so that side must be running too rich? It just smokes and spews gas out the pipe, and not to mention the pipe on that side does not get hot, just warm. The only thing i can think that might be causing this is reeds....any thoughts? are the power reeds junk? should i be running something better?

If the reeds aren't cracked, and are maintaing a good seal against the cage, I'd rule them out........I would do a leak down test ASAP........The jetting is the same on both carbs, correct?

Do a compression check and leakdown, just b/c it's fresh doesn't mean everything internal is good to go. You can of course pull that carb apart and clean it, since it won't cost you anything except time. It is rare but sometimes people forget to tighten a main or pilot and when they come out loads of fuel goes in.

90 PSI is low, Ed.......Did you take the readings WOT?........should be around 130 (stock) give or take for elevation......A leakdown involves putting a low (6psi) charge into the engine and seeing if it maintains the pressure......

Did you check to make sure the right side has a fat blue spark? My buddies shee had the same issue after rebuild and I had to cut 1/2 inch off the plug wire screw the cap back on and it runs like a raped ape. Just food for thought.
