Default setting chain tension please (banshee)

hello everyone i have to be the slowest chain tensioner anywhere. Can i please ask when setting the tension on a banshee they give you a slask tolorance of 15-40mm i spent ages setting the chain to 15mm slack when sitting on a stand under the engine frame, But when i put the bike back on its wheels and sit on it the chain feels to tight what is the correct or better still the easy way to set the chain tension please.

I get a ratcheting tie down, hook it to the bumper and arm, and when the swingarm bolt, arm and carrier are all in a straight line, there should be little or no play.
