circlips?

I just bought a new crank and am about to put it in but I am wondering if I have to replace the circlips for the tranny and the crank... How do you know if they are worn out and are the only a semi circle? thanks

ya if doing a crank replace all bearing, clips,and seals kinda suck to have to redo the job becose of not replaceing a cheep part
