Default 421 cub parts checklist

ok, i want to make shure i have all the correct parts before i start puting this thing togather. its a 421 cub cylinder 68mm blaster piston and a 4mm stroked, 5mm long rod crank. now with this settup i do not need to run a spacer plate between the cylinders and the cases right? i noticed that the wrist pin position on the blaster pistons is slightly higher than that of a banshee piston. this should rule out the need for a spacer right? is there a special base gasket one is sopose to use with these cylinders? banshee wristpin bearings or blaster? i still need extended studs, big bore domes, and coolent plugs.

you sound like you are trying to use some of your blaster parts on the banshee. I have no idea about how that will come together for you. I have recently built my 421 cub and 35 mm PWKs are essential for the cub to breath. I also am curious of what you plan to use for a pipe and intakes as well. Also you may want to look into a heavy duty clutch as the cub will smoke your stock clutch. Good luck and let me know about your entire set up and I can tell you what to avoid. I also would advise that you move away from a boost bottle and just plug the entries. I thought the boost bottle was important but as it turned out it was a temp change that had effected my jetting.

well, i bought the pistons, crank, and cylinders from a company as a 421 cub "kit". i just want to make shure they sent me the correct parts. the 68mm blaster pistons are wiseco prolites and ive heard of people useing these for this application. the crank is hot rods, thats all i recived from the "kit". i will do a cleanup port and do a little matching with the cases other than that the cub cylinders will remain stock port. im building it for a buddy who wants to dune ride it, not race it. we have 34mm pj's and pro design intakes with k&n clampons, lrd adjustable pipes with quitet turndown silencers anodized black. coolhead with 21 or 20cc domes. gonna toss some timing at it as well 4-7 degreese and run 100ll. black powdercoated +6 swinger from the swingarmshop. bead to bead 22x11x8 12 paddle extremes and 21x8x10 dunetrackers. im hoping a lockout wont be needed but we are gonna try a heavy duty clutch with some hardcore springs. and probably a set of fullbore black plastic. might spray the cylinders black too.

you do not want to go with a lock up clutch if you are planning to ride recreation. I understand they do not like to downshift well. Also I am changing domes to 18cc as the 20 or 21's are good for pump gas but I have heard that you can get an additional 5-6 hp from 18cc domes with a cub application. I have also heard that the PJ's are not as freindly with the jetting as the PWK's but fi you already have them I would use them. Let us know how it turns out.
