Default Stripped lug nuts

Hey Guys,

I made a bit of a mistake and took an impact wrench with the wrong sized socket to one of the lugnuts on my banshee and stripped it out pretty good.

I was planning on using an angle grinder and taking the nut off, or grinding the other end of the bolt off (backside of the hub). and buying a new stud (is it just a regular bolt type? bikebandit wants to charge 3$ for each one. and switch to new itp lug nuts.

If anyone has any advice on this i would appreciate it.

btw its the front hub.

take a cutoff wheel and cut down teh wheel stud and though the nut.. the nut will come off in 2 halves you'll need to replace the whel stud as well.... you'll have a very hard time getting to the back of the stud which is a special fastner.. the brake rotor is right in your way

just grind down the sides of the nut till you can get a socket on it. thats what i did. that way you dont have to buy a new stud

dude, put down the power tools and order a set of these. or goto your local sears or k-mart and buy a set. there regularly $20 but the link has them on sale for $10. just pound them on and the harder you wrench on them the more they bite in. you'll spend at least $40 in time and effort trying to cut away enough shit to get your wheel off and then you will have to replace the studs. with these you drop $20 and save the studs...dont be a tool, buy the tools...
