Default First Banshee mod-want input

Hi to All,

I have a 1995 Banshee and it's stock (with a K & N filter and outerwear). I'm about to upgrade and want EVERYONE'S input to make SURE I'M DOING IT RIGHT!

These are the following add on's:
Toomey T5's pipes with silencers (The Kit with Jets 280 mains)
Vforce reeds (should that be Vforce3 reeds ?)
Timing plate and put to +4
Pro design highflow impeller
Cool Heads (or should I have my stock heads milled?)

Do I need domes? If so what size? 20cc?

I'm also running with "cool ice" coolant.

Any input you guys can give me would be appreciated. My Shee is very reliable and would like to keep it that way with a little more power to her.
My crank is NOT welded also.

Look forward to you input! Also any recommended person who can do any work that you know of in the South Bay area (Redondo Beach) that is reliable and does good work.

Thank You!!!!

You running open airbox? Why not go for individual K&N Pods & eliminate the TORS.
Jetting sounds about right with needle on the 3rd clip. Go for the VF3's but get the 2's if you see a killer deal on them.
Have the stock head & flywheel shaved by Flotek Performance, save the cool head money towards portwork and that's where the real power comes into play.
At that point you can pull the crank and have it welded..

After reading up and studying these threads you won't need a service shop, these guys around here can give you walkthru's on anything your shee might need!

Welcome to e2s and thanks for joining!!!!

if your not looking to make big horsepower the stock unwelded crank is just fine.

if for sand

pipes, k&n pods w/ outerwears, TORS eliminator, +4 timing (plate not key), head is really up to you (stock or bling, i like the NOSS head more than the pro design), might want to toss a few HD clutch springs in for good measure, oh, and a new clutch cable (what a difference a new one makes).

for dirt

same as above but keep your current airbox setup.

if you go with a cool head 21cc domes are good for pump fuel at sea level with some timing advance on a stock port.

I have a lid on my air box but have 6 big 1" holes drilled through it. A good friend told me about the hole drilling. So I get the same effect as the Pod.
On the cool head 21cc domes timing advance +4 correct?
Great idea on the HD clutch springs and clutch cable!!!!
Why do you prefer the NOSS head over the Pro Design???

drillign hoel in your airbox is still nowhere near the pod filters for slow.. but is better than the sealed box..

ok my advice is ussaly different then most guys.. mostly because i think aftemarket reed cages are a waste...

pipes, trail port, milled head, advanced timing and if youir a dirt and trail rider scrap the stock filter setup for a PRO-FLO setup with a uni filter and outerwearer..
these things can easily net you 50-60hp and be VERY trail worthy... and by not buying the V-force reeds you'll have porting money.. reed cages will get you 2hp..... maybe.. porting will get you 8+hp... and for a comparable cost... crunch those numbers..

I'de for sure get pipes and an air filter set up....if you are riding dirt don't get k&n go foam....i hate my k&n with a passion...soon i shall burn it...
after the pipes and air filter, look into the head getting cut, flywheel lightened, save up for port work, and get a good set of rear tires taht will bite. i say fuck vforce, but thats just mne. I have boyesen carbon fiber reeds, loved em on my blaster, dont know yet on the banshee cause it wont run right...
I love problems.....
