its been a while since i had a two stroke..have ?'s

its been a while like the tittle says. bought some 110 octane and mixed it, filled up the tank. she started without the choke after sitting since last year when i bought her. do i put the little knob on the side of the choke on reserve, off or on? i let her warm up for about 10-15 mins, touched the pipe and they were only luke warm. i finally put the little knob on reserve(what the hell is the name for this thing??) and she warmed up faster but getting outta 1st was tough cause she kept dying??

what am i doing wrong, i hate to sound like an idiot but what is the correct start up procedure, was i choking the engine of fuel?

reserve is to let you know your geting low on fuel.i would pull the choke(the little black knob on the carb) let it warm up a few,push it back down once it warm. leave the fule on (on) this is the on that on the tank.it will run out of gas whean you have used almost all the fuel in the tank thean you can use reserve to get ya back to a gas can hope that helped Eric

pull the choke all the way out or 1/2, btw it started without the choke, make any difference? how long do you let it warm up? i let it sit about 10 mins, gave it gas (in nuetral) and it bogging??

the thing that says on , off, reserve, is your petcock man, that control\s the flow of gas from your tank, you can run it on reserve or ON, either one, doesnt make a difference, the reserve is just the last .8 gallons i think it is on the banshee,
pull your choke out on the side of the carb, let it idle till it can idle without it out, once its pushed in and idling good, let it idle till the motor is warm to the touch
you probably kept bogging and stalign in 1st cause you were tryin to drive it with the choke on makin it rich as hell\

petcock, yeah, i know what it is and does, forgot where it should be. the choke was never pulled out, like i said it started without the choke so cant understand why it was bogging

sounds like you need to rejet the carbs for your setup

Either the jets are dirty or the parking brake switch is activated killing the throttle when you gas it. If you haven't already done so unplug the connector behind the hood that leads down from the clutch/PB perch and it won't bog anymore.

Plugs could be fouled, put a new set in and see what happens.

why are you running 110 ? just wonderin, i usually have the gas petcock to on give the bike a shake and do 2-3 slow kicks and then blip the throttle and pull the choke out half way then i give it one good kick and fires everytime, your bogging could have been a plugged pilot jet mine did it as well

i bought it from a yamaha dealer according to them it runs 110. its has cool head,blah,blah, blah

i didnt think about the parking break, i'll look into that
