Elka and Axis are gonne be your best bet for top of the line....A reasonable priced shock like a works will get the job done I'm sure though, I'd get a set vavled for your riding and weight....

You running aftermarket A Arms? I would suggest so for a better ride/handling.
I run those yfz450 shocks & feel good on my setup, but just avoid it & go for the good stuff.
You can get Dual Rates AT Steelers from Works for $320, order them to your weight & you're good.
No need to pay for the brand name Elka, other companies will work just fine.

TCS is more expensive.. I'll prb send them my shocks for a revalve, anodize, respring like this...

Do you need to do any modifications
to fit the yfz450 shocks, or do they
bolt on?

You have to shave down the shock mounts, i used a grinder. Also shave a bit on the upper frame mount.
Picture shows I shaved it all around but it's not required. Only need to shave one area.. Shaved it all around just to make it look nice.
I'm going to try my friends 700r shocks, the shock mounts are small & should just bolt straight up!
Showtime, pay for shipping.. I'll let you try them out!

I'm sorry not for sale & way better over stock! Huge improvement!!!
I see these go brand new from $120 to $200. YFZcentral.com let's them go cheap.
They build MX quads & get rid of all stock stuff, their sponsors replace it with top of the line parts.
