Default pulling clutch and shifting problem

I have been having some shifting problems and took off the clutch side cover to identify the problem. How do you pull the clutch? undo the springs or undo the center nut? sorry for the noobish question.
Thanks

What's the actual shift problem? What's it doing or not doing?

well, it happens in all gears mainly when down shifting. It feels like the shift shaft doesnt always grab that shift star thing. when it doesn't shift i fiddle with the shifter by pushing in on it or pulling it a hair up and then i can shift down. so how do i pull the clutch to check?

You can adjust as shown in the pic. I have an aftermarket clutch adjuster but works the same as stock.
Easy to remove, just pull the screws you see on the face!
To start I would adjust the clutch to make sure the two meeting points on top of the case line up. Give that a try!

Should add you want the arrows to line up pushing them by hand.
You should push the arm by hand, and have them line up....or adjust it to they do.
Don't pull the lever to adjust it...you could get a false reading of where it's starting to disengage the clutch....
