Default shift shaft not grabbing

Ok, i took took the clutch side cover off of my banshee and am trying to identify a shifting problem. The shifter doesn't always grab.. when i turn the blue marked screw the shifting assembly moves up and down so i am pretty sure it is bent. also the yellow marked spring is not very tight at all and has a little slack, do these look like the problem? I messed around with it for a while and found that i am pretty sure that it is that little spring on the device that grabs the shift star. let me know what you think and pardon the terminology.
Thanks
