Rear brake options..

well I went to take my caliper apart to clean and it has rusted through the whole side into the inner chamber.. I was thinking since I needed a new caliper maybe there would be a better option I could go with?

I have my complete setup pulled off at the moment so I'm just wanting to see my options if any.

Can you post a pic? Let's see how bad it is.
Get some PB Blaster and let the parts soak in it. A brillo pad or wire brush will break up the rust.

You can get a good, complete used caliper off fleabay for about 50 to 70 bucks.
The cost to repair yours through dealer parts would probably run at least that....

yes i know..I'm asking if there are other options.. kind of how you can swap the fronts out with the yfz450 is there anyother ones that fit the rear.

I can't exactly get a pic of it but on the place that i think the parking brake blockoff goes (mine has the stock part that comes out and like goes up against the carrier) but when you take that part off it's all rusted and ate up and what looks like a spring is like starting to stick through it.. it looks pretty screwed up If I could get a diagram of the caliper I'd show what I was talking about but my comp wont load the diagram off like bike bandit and such..

if its just rusted behind the parking brake block-off, then thats not really anything to worry about. enless your talking about inside the caliper where the fluid is. have you pulled the piston out of the caliper?
