Default throttle, what to do?

I ruined my carb springs trying to clip them to make them easier. I have mikuni 34mm tm carbs. I bought new springs and i dare say i cant even push in the thumb throttle now . also they make a little click at the very beginning of pushing them in. i think this is due to the fact that the spring is so bunched up in the carb. Any suggestions?

Did you actually clip them? If so & they don't don't work... you'd have to buy new ones..
