Default clutch inop!!!

hey guys, I am looking at a 2001 banshee that I might pick up. The bike runs great. the only problem is that the clutch doesent engage. the guy says that its a brand new clutch, and that it just needs a (push rod) and that is like a $10 part. im just wondering if this guys bullshitting me or not. does this sound like a common or likely problem? and what do you guys think. Your advice will be greatly appreciated.

So you pull the clutch lever and no tension? That could be a symptom of a missing push rod & it's inexpensive..
Now why is it missing from the engine? Why was it removed? Why would seller re assemble the clutch and not add this $10 part?

yea.... im with climb! that doesnt make since? why would he do that? well... do you know this guy? if at all possible. maybe you should buy the part, take the 20 minutes to install it. then test drive it? better to be out 10$ then whatever you will be paying if you decide to buy it? maybe he is hiding tranny problems, or something else that you cant see or hear cause it wont engage? just a thought...

Oh yeah, easy install for sure! Pull the clutch cover.
Remove the pressure plate, [good idea to replace stock with aftermarket clutch pusher at this time.]
Right behind the clutch pusher sits the bearing the rod you need, reassemble, adjust and should be good to go.

Feel free to check out the Manuals Forum for the Banshee manual!!

Hold up on that car wash boys...

If he welded the pushrod ball to each other, sometimes you can beat it out, sometimes you have to split the cases.

Keep that in mind.
