Years ago I owned a 400ex, yea I know....Anyways I took it to them to have a cam installed...They quoted me over the phone $150.00 and to tune it, I was like shit for that price it aint worth me messing with it...So I drop it off and clarify $150 and asked if they would right it up and he's like nah no big deal it's $150....I just wanted it in writing since every other shop was $225-$300...So I get a call to come pick up and it's $235..I said wtf...He's like what?...I said it's suppose to be $150.00, he goes oh no this is a minumum of $235 for a job like this....Then he goes there seems to be another problem, your airbox is filled with dirt and I have concerns the motor needs a full rebuild will you come down and look at it...So I drive knowing the whole quad was perfectly cleaned (I cleaned it 2 days previous so they wouldn't have to work on a dirty quad, I clean it spotless including the airbox) so I get there and he pulls the airbox plug and it's filled with top soil...I go what gives this quad was spotless, he goes no it wasnt this is dirt in ur airbox and most likely on ur motor....I said I doubt it I maintain my stuff to a T...Then I go what the hell did I do play in a garden you put top soil in it asshole...He goes I dont think so, so I paid the $235 and left extremely pissed....
So thats one story....Heres the 2nd
My buddy took his predator in there to have it jetted on there dyno since he just put a new pipe on it...Wanted it to be jetted perfectly and they agreed that for $150.00 they would completely tune it....So he drops it off and then they call sayin he has to buy jets and yada yada...So naturally the price goes up, fuckin scammers....So then he gets his quad back and it seems to run good...We end up going for a night ride and this frickin quad is shooting 12 inch flames from the pipe and is running hot....I go bro something aint right where did you take it, he told me CSA....I shook my head....So the next day we take the carb off and check it out....We pull the manual out just to check the stock jetting...And sure as shit theres all stock jets in it, we end up going 3 sizes bigger on the main to make it right, his whole quad was running lean thanks to CSA, probably another scam to bring the quad back for a repair....If you ever meet that douche bag Tom turn the other way.... |
