| It depends on elevation, at sea level my shaved .035 head can still run pump.. First thing would be fresh rings & a cylinder hone.

| How much compression do you want? are you willing to run race gas? are you planning on splitting the cases to weld the crank? Have you thrown much timing at it? How do you ride? Where do you ride? While 180 to 190 PSI might be great on a drag strip 300 feet at a time, it might not be wise holding it WOT for 15 to 30 seconds at a time blasting across dunes... Just things to think about... |

| Splitting the cases, having the crank pins welded so they don't separate. It's an insurance policy...a crank separating in a motor spinning 9 to 10 K is a BAD thing. All depends on your luck otherwise. What mods are currently done, and where/how do you ride? What is your reason for being stuck on wanting more compression? | well im just going to be ridin at our dunes mostly.....Little Sahara, Utah! elevation is pretty high around 63oo i think.....and ya i want to run racing fuel for sure...straight fi i can instead of 50/50.....and the guys at K & T Performance are going to put a cool head on...lighten the flywheel, and advance the timing in a couple days......any objections????? and best place to get high compression piston????? prices????? |

| You don't buy high compression pistons for a two stroke, you control that by the head cc size, squish band, dome step, etc. If Kim @ K&T is doing your work, do it ALL through him. He will set you straight...and at that high of elevation, yes...you need to crank up the compression for some performance. You're probably 25 to 30% down on power vs. someone with the same build at Sea Level, give or take. |
