banshee has no spark

i'm rebuidling my buddies banshee. last time he rode it it died on him. i tested the stator and it was bad. so i bought a new ricky stator stator and coil, and still no spark. i did find a couple wires that were frayed and i think shorted out against the exhaust. could those frayed wires have fried the cdi? is there a way to test the cdi before i order a new one?

also the tros is gone. do i need to remove any other wires for it to have spark? i tried disconnecting everything on the handlebars but still no go.

and supposably the cdi was new a few years back.

that can possibly fry tha cdi but i dont kno of a way to test one best thing i can tell u is if u have a banshee ur self make sure there are no frayed wires and use urs and see if urs works other than that ur gonna have to buy a new one and find out

nope i don't have anotherbanshee here to steal a cdi from. this is my first banshee that i've had a chance to completly rebuild. i have mostly suzuki's. maybe i can hook up an lt250 cdi to it!! lol

thats why i was hoping there was a way to test it. didn't want to buy a new one and have it not be the problem.

na a suzuki wont work cause its a single cyl and a banshee is a twin cyl

Did you remove the TORS brain, little black box under the tank? Once had pipe hanger break and the stinger layed over the harness..
Taped it up and was good to go, didn't damage anything else. On a diff episode I replaced the stator but no spark..
Later found the flywheel was cracked, replaced the wheel and fired right up!
